Get started

1. Find out more

Join one of our upcoming workshops to find out all about this campaign and whether you want to get involved.

We’ll introduce how the campaign works, what’s involved in starting or joining a campaign, and what support you can expect.

Welcome workshop dates are coming soon (Autumn 2026)

2. Start a local campaign

Find out if there are already groups campaigning to make polluters pay in your area here. If there’s no local campaign yet in your council area, sign up here to start one. Someone from our team will be in touch to help connect you with others in your area and get started.

3. Launch a community campaign

The first step to get your council to pass a Make Polluters Pay motion is to launch a local petition and to start running a community survey to talk to people and build support for it in your area.

We’ll support you to launch your survey and develop clear localised demands, and we’ll provide the tools and training you’ll need to start going door-to-door and building support within your community.

4. Start community organising

We have a range of upcoming trainings and action guides to help you start planning community surveys, door-knocking sessions, fun local events and other ways to build majority public support for the polluters pay principle in your local area.

5. Stay in touch

We’re here to support you and your local team every step of the way. We’re building a national team of volunteers, as well as ways to share learning, successes and resources between local campaigns in different areas. Join an upcoming training to get the tools you need to kick-off a successful local campaign.
